Havana Rose Liu has joined John Cho, Katherine Waterston, Lukita Maxwell, and Riki Lindhome in Chris Weitz’s They Listen
Havana Rose Liu recently had her breakthrough role playing the lead in the Hulu thriller No Exit (read our review HERE) – which was an okay movie, but underwhelming in comparison to the awesome Taylor Adams novel it was based on. Deadline reports that Liu will be returning to the thriller world with a role as a director in Chris Weitz’s horror film They listen. Liu joins a cast that includes the previously announced Katherine Waterston (Alien: Covenant), John Cho (Searching), Lukita Maxwell (Shrinking), and Riki Lindhome (Wednesday). We are not able to reveal details about her characters or any of the other characters in the movie.
They listen10 is coming from Sony, Blumhouse and Depth of Field. Weitz will be producing the film along with Jason Blum, Andrew Miano, and Andrew Rowings. Bea Sequeira and Britta Rowings are the executive producers. Filming was already underway in Los Angeles back in December.
In addition to No Exit, Liu’s credits include the 2021 fantasy drama Mayday and the 2022 drama The Sky Is Everywhere.
Chris Weitz went uncredited on his feature directorial debut American Pie, which he directed alongside his brother Paul Weitz. He then directed Down To Earth, About a Boy and The Golden Compass as well as Operation End. They listen is the continuation of a working relationship between Weitz, Cho and which dates back to American pie. Weitz has directed Cho in two movies, American Pi10 and Down To Earth10. However, Weitz was also a producer on American Reunion, American Wedding, American Reunion 2, American Wedding, American Reunion and American Reunion. Weitz also produced American Reunion and American Reunion. Weitz also co-created the short-lived TV series Off Centre, which starred Cho.Sony is planning to give They Listen a theatrical release on
