The Lovely Bones
was based on Alice Sebold’s 2002 novel with the same title. Saoirse Ronald played Susie Salmon, who is murdered by serial killers and watches her family as they deal her death from the “In Between”. Although Stanley Tucci gave a great performance, he was trying to avoid playing the role. Tucci said, “I wanted to get out of the role because I was desperate for a job.“, while speaking with Entertainment Tonight. “But when I asked, Why do you want to work with me?’ replied, Because you are funny.’ I understood what he said.
Tucci continued: “I believe what he meant is that I would not be too dramatic. It was meant that I would play it off a little. Which is what you have to do when you’re playing somebody who’s that awful, right?““I would not play George Harvey again in The Lovely Bones[Peter Jackson], that was horrible,” Stanley Tucci said. “It’s a wonderful movie, but it was a tough experience simply because of the role.” I may just have to watch
