Kevin Nealon, SNL’s Kevin Nealon, on his second career in the arts

While Kevin Nealon is best known for his work as a comedian, actor and SNL veteran, he has also become a talented artist in recent years.

If you’re a child of the eighties, you grew up watching the great Kevin Nealon as the host of Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live. Nealon played Franz, the half of the Arnold-like body-building pair Hans and Franz, from 1986-1995. Since SNL, Nealon’s gone on to great success as a character actor, starring on Weeds opposite Mary-Louise Parker for 99 episodes while also being a regular on Man with a Plan. I had the pleasure of chatting with Nealon about his art recently and found him to a very nice guy. We talked about his painting career (COVID), and what he is doing now with the SAG Strike. He also talks about the movies he has been watching recently (he is a huge fan of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning), and how he is finally catching up on

Breaking Saul

, after years of hearing how brilliant these shows are. You can even catch me urging him to watch The Bear. For more on Kevin Nealon’s art, you can visit his website and don’t forget to check out his YouTube show, Hiking with Kevin. We’ll profile him soon on our Awesome Artists from Around the Net series
