A fan calls out James Gunn on Twitter for lying about Ben Affleck directing Brave and the Bold, and Gunn responds.
Gunn has taken to Twitter again to address rumors, as new ones have surfaced that former Caped Crusader, Ben Affleck, might be helming the announced Batman movie, The Brave and the Bold. This version will be distinct from Matt Reeves’ Robert Pattinson-starring universe The Batman movies. Gunn was accused by a fan of lying about Affleck’s directing The Brave and the Bold because these rumors have now surfaced. I’d be very curious to know what you think I have lied about.
Gunn responded, I would be interested to know what lies you believe I have committed.” Gunn replied, “I don’t want DC to run and I don’t want Superman to direct. I was offered Superman, but chose Squad. I was able to see how to defeat Superman and took the job. It was not something I wanted to do, but I accepted the offer from Peter and Gunn. This has been a difficult road as I navigate the criticism Gunn receives and make decisions that are not popular with DCEU fans. Gunn and Peter Safran were hired to take over and bring a united vision to DC films. His vision included the abandonment of some previously announced plans for DC films. Dwayne Johnson, Black Adam
10, had released a long-gestating project. He planned to host a mono-emono battle with Henry Cavill’s Superman. Johnson stated that he had fought to bring Cavill back into the blue and red for an epic battle between the gods. Once Gunn and Safran were given their new positions, they had decided to start from scratch with Superman in particular with a story from his younger days.In addition, there would be no further movies in the
Black Adam franchise, Wonder Woman 3
was also scrapped, and both Jason Momoa and Zachary Levi had to assure fans that there were no plans for their characters to follow suit.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2mFL4bWHJE
