The new episode of the Real Slashers video series looks back at 1982’s Friday the 13th Part III, starring Richard Brooker as Jason Voorhees
It’s time for a new episode of the Real Slashers video series, and with this one we’re looking back at my personal favorite entry in my favorite franchise: Friday the 13th Part III (buy the franchise Blu-ray set HERE). You can find out all about it by watching the video embedded above!
Directed by Steve Miner from a screenplay by Martin Kitrosser and Carol Watson (with some uncredited polishing by Petru Popescu), Friday the 13th Part III has the following synopsis: The third installment in the “Friday the 13th” series picks up on the day after the carnage with homicidal maniac Jason Voorhees stealing some clothes and killing a local store owner. Chris and Rick, her boyfriend who is also Chris’s friend, are hosting some teenage friends to their lake house. Despite a run-in with a local biker gang, they enjoy an amiable weekend together — that is, until Jason begins knocking off kids and bikers alike.
The film stars Dana Kimmell, Paul Kratka, Tracie Savage, Jeffrey Rogers, Catherine Parks, Larry Zerner, David Katims, Rachel Howard, Nick Savage, Gloria Charles, Kevin O’Brien, Cheri Maugans, Steve Susskind, and David Wiley, with Richard Brooker as Jason Voorhees.
Here’s what Real Slashers is all about: Ahhh the ’80s. The ’80s were a simpler time when the blood was red, the boobies were swinging freely, and weed was smoked copiously. A time when rampant killers served as an excuse for excessive sex, and even murder. We’re going to look at a time when slasher movies were a big hit in cinemas. Today, we’re looking at “Real Slashers.”
The show is Written, Narrated, and Edited by Tyler Nichols, Produced by John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
