Evil Dead Rise (read our review right HERE), a movie that was once intended to go straight to the HBO Max (now simply known as Max) streaming service, will be reaching theatres in just eight days, on April 21st. If you are too eager to see the film and want to see a preview, or if you still haven’t decided whether to watch it or not, you’re in luck. The Hole in the Ground
, Sam Raimi selected Lee Cronin as the writer and director of a new Evil Dead film. Cronin’s story for Evil Dead rise is as follows: A road weary Beth visits her older sister Ellie who is raising her three children on her own in an L.A. apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.Although the film is set in Los Angeles, filming actually took place in New Zealand. Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sullivan and Nell Fisher star as the estranged sister at the center of the story. Ellie’s children are Gabrielle Echols Morgan Davies and Nell Fisher. Mia Challis plays Jessica, an 18-year-old girl who is obsessed with Instagram and fashion. Jessica loves being the center of attention. She is actually smarter than she lets herself appear. Evil Dead Rise is a collaboration between Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, and Ghost House Pictures.
