Reactions from Monday night’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania premiere are heaping major praise on its cast and weirdness.
The first reactions to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania are in following the Marvel movie’s Monday night world premiere, with many citing its weirdness and saying Jonathan Majors steals the show.
Our own JimmyO called Quantumania the best of the Ant-Man movies, tweeting it’s “a beautiful and wildly entertaining flick” that boasts “a great balance of humor, visual effects, and thrills.” He also hit on what looks to be one of the most compelling elements of the movie: the relationship between Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton).
Like JimmyO, some of those who were at the premiere also noted just how weird and different Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was compared to the 30 MCU entries that came before it.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness went into the screenplay looking to nail the humanity in Kang the Conqueror. “Thos is an iconic villain. But he’s also a huge purple CGI guy. He’s an alien from outerspace. The thing I wanted to really lean into was that Kang is a human being. Kang is also a lonely character. We’re going to be seeing a lot of him in a lot of different ways going forward, but I really wanted to introduce the humanity and even the vulnerability of this character before he gets to such apocalyptic, Avengers-scale heights.”Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
launches Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on February 17th. The timing is perfect with the Phase Four cappper Black Panther: Wakanda Forever appearing on Disney+ last week. It quickly became the most-streamed Marvel debut. As of publication, the third entry in the Ant-Man series is projected to easily open with $100+ million. After reading the reactions, what are you hoping to see in
