, right up there with Mark Hamill’s Joker and Kevin Conroy’s Batman. In recent years, the character was played by Margot Robbie in the live action version of Joker Folie a Deuxand (soon by Lady Gaga) in the HBO Max animated show. Many still believe that Sorkin is the definitive version of the character. Dini knew Sorkin from college and saw her playing a jester on an episode of Days of Our Lives – and thus, history was made! Days Of Our Lives, as well as being a writer for the NBC comedy-FiredUp. Sorkin voiced Harley Quinn in Batman: The Animated Series from 2010 to 2012; her last credit was a videogame. Robbie cited Sorkin’s work in Suicide squad as one of the influences for her performance. The high-pitched Brooklyn accent Sorkin used to play the character is now a defining characteristic. It’ll be interesting to see if Lady Gaga follows the tradition in Folie a Deux.Indeed, Arleen Sorkin’s performance as Harley Quinn is one I doubt any of us will ever forget. She was fantastic and will always have a special place for Batman fans around the world.
